Keep it One Hunnid…

From Progressive Media:

CQ’s Presidential Support studies try to determine how often a legislator votes in line with the President’s position:

CQ tries to determine what the president personally, as distinct from other administration officials, does and does not want in the way of legislative action. This is done by analyzing his messages to Congress, news conference remarks and other public statements and documents.

So, these studies only track votes when the President has an explicit, stated opinion on a bill.

According to CQ, Senator John McCain has voted with President Bush 100% of the time in 2008 and 95% of the time in 2007: [Read more →]

When Billionaires attack…

May 22nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

From Bloomberg.com -

May 22 (Bloomberg) — Billionaire investor Carl Icahn said Barack Obama would be a “terrible” U.S. president whose election would bring higher interest rates and a loss of international confidence in the dollar.

“I don’t normally get involved in politics, but this time I am,” Icahn told an investors conference in New York last night. “I don’t think Obama really understands economics.”

The Obama campaign referred a request for comment to UBS Americas Chairman Robert Wolf, a fundraiser. “Senator Obama has a very smart plan to help our nation come out of and recover more quickly from our economic downturn,” Wolf said in an e-mail.

Music that sticks.

May 14th, 2008 · No Comments

I work in the music industry so my life is surrounded by music 24/7. It seems like every election year I come back to certain groups or artists that just stick with you no matter what.

I’ve recently become depressed (Not really, just upset) that I am listening to a song that was released in 1992 and the lyrics still resonate and are still relevant. [Read more →]

poll

For those graphically impaired, the above poll done by Gallup states that 38% of American’s are more concerned with John McSame’s relationship with George W. Bush, to 33% concerned with Barack Obama’s relationship with Jeremiah Wright.

After weeks and weeks of constant media bombardment, this tells me that the Wright controversy has lost its legs and will lose steam as it has topped out.

The McSame/Bush love quarrel poll numbers will only get worse as the media is only NOW starting to look at the relationship.

Books

I read alot. I mean…ALOT. Unlike your conventional bookworm, I do most of my reading online. ALL. DAY. LONG. I’m currently reading “Dreams from My Father” (Of course), but am only half way through it after having it for a month.

My biggest distraction? The internet.

Wikipedia is addicting and I am constantly trying to soak up as much information as possible. My friends call me the “Walking Wiki”…okay okay…No one really calls me that except for me, but still.

I often wonder what it is most republicans read in their spare time. I usually think of republicans as people who love only headlines, sound bites and news ticker.

It’s hard work being a liberal. I hear something on the news and I have to go and investigate it online for a few hours before I can finally make up my mind that I’m getting the straight dope.

Why is it that liberals have a higher standard when it comes to truth?

Wright vs. Wrong

May 11th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Is anyone here ready to say that Bill Graham’s, Jerry Fallwell’s or Rev. Pat Robertson’s comments are as equally as hateful and retarded? Of course not. I can’t imagine Sean Hannity or O’Reilly condemning any of those while they kiss ass to Reagan & Bush who took spiritual advice from all three.

Falwell - “I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say ‘you helped this happen.

Robertson on liberals – “”these guys are out and out communists, they are radicals, they are, you know, some of them killers, and they are propagandists of the first order… you don’t want your child to be brainwashed by these radicals, you just don’t want it to happen. Not only brainwashed but also beat up, they beat these people up, cower them into submission.

“Losing his bearings”

May 9th, 2008 · No Comments

I find it humorous how defensive John McSame got when Obama said “It seems as though he is losing his bearings” (Referring to McSame). McSame then responded by saying that Obama is trying to make his age a factor by calling him old. As if that isn’t a legitimate arguement.

A good friend of mine reminded me that McSame is 71 years old. He then went on to recite a Dennis Miller bit (Prior to his hackery) where Miller said, “Reagan is going to be 76 at the end of his next term and his hand on the button…My grandfather is 76 and we don’t even let him get his hand on the remote control!”

Who here thinks that the John McCain of 2000 would vote for (another controversy I’ll get to soon) John McSame 2008?

How badly does this man want to be president? He has compromised a majority of what he stands for. See below:

  • McSame is now AGAINST his OWN Immigration Bill.
  • Reversed his role on torture.
  • Reversed his position on Bush’s Tax cuts.
  • Reversed his feelings on Falwell & Robertson
  • Reversed his position on Roe v. Wade.
  • Reversed his position on how the Iraq War has been managed.
  • Reversed his position on campaign financing.

“John  McSame” just seems so appropriate. Really…You can’t write this stuff!!!

Why bring him into it?

May 8th, 2008 · 2 Comments

There are few things in this world I really enjoy. A nice glass of wine. A warm towel out of the dryer on a cold day. New Socks. And select TV Shows.

So imagine my dismay when on The Daily Show last night, McCain reached into his pocket for a card and read off the name of his VP candidate. That name:

Dwight Schrute.

Fucking Bullshit. Why Dwight? One of my favorite characters in television. Couldn’t it have been someone monumentally lame??? Say, perhaps Jack from Will & Grace. Or any character David Spade plays on television.

Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute on NBC’s The Office is a comedic genius. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Check out the clip below:
